Climate trek concludes after 88 days
The Great Himalaya Trail -Climate Smart Trek which was led by Apa Sherpa and his team has concluded in Darchula district of Far Western Nepal today. The trek began in the Ghunsa, Taplejung in far eastern Nepal on the 24th of January 2012 and ended in Darchula, the far western district of country on the 20th of April 2012. The team has walked a total of 1,449 km and completed walking the entire trail in 88 days. In a press meet organized in Darchula at the District Administration Office, Apa and his team were welcomed and felicitated by the local people. The event was organized by the Darchula chapter of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) and was attended by the Chief District Officer and other government officials.
