Apa Sherpa declares his next steps to help build Climate Smart Great Himalaya Trail

The 21 times Mt. Everest Summiteer Apa Sherpa and his team members have completed the mammoth 1,555 km Great Himalaya Trail in 99 days in a bid to advocate the adverse impacts of climate change along the GHT (Great Himalaya Trail) and to help build it as the world’s first climate smart trail. A press meet was organised in Kathmandu to mark the successful completion of GHT- Climate Smart Celebrity Trek (CSCT).
The press meet was also graced by Mr. Madhav Prasad Ghimire -Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal, Mr. Krishna Gyawali- Secretary of the Ministry of Enviornment, Mr. Ganesh Ra Joshi- Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoTCA) and Mr. Bal Krishna Joshi- Joint Secretary of MoTCA.
In the press meet, Apa Sherpa declared his next steps towards building the Great Himalaya Trail into a Climate Smart Trail.
